Too Much Caffine

Well I decided it was time to pull out my Funny Coffee I Stamps and participate in Skipping Stones Design's sketch this week. I loved the sketch and had some left over Merry January paper by We R Memory Keepers sitting on my desk so I thought I'd just use up some scraps.
Here's the sketch:
 And my card:
I added some off white rick rack to the mix as well as lots of Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I cut a ticket from Tim Holtz's ticket die and inked the edges and stamped the senti on it.
Finished the card off with a button and a little twine.

Stamp Insanity Challenge 36, Sketch and New Release

Hello bloggers! This week at Stamp Insanity we have a great sketch and an even greater new release! First, here's the sketch:
And the new release is called Holiday Princess. I adore this release!

I kinda went outside the box for my card this week and used a brown paper lunch bag as my base. Crazy I know. I cut it down to size and added some great papers from Echo Park.
I colored up cute little Holiday Princess Maddie and inked the edges of the cut. I used Nesties labels 14 to cut her out. I backed her with some brown shimmer paper from Die Cuts With A View.
I used my button pinch to add a little big of an embellie on the corner as well as my snowflake boarder punch on the edge of the bag.
I finished up the front of the card with some brown bling sprinkled about.
I added the sentiment to the inside with a little sticker from Echo Park and another brown bling.
Don't forget to stop by and check out the rest of the crazies in the aslym:

Through Her Eyes

Happy Tuesday bloggers, this week The Greeting Farm has a great sketch so I had to use it to create a layout using the yummy new papers at Altered Art and Scrap Playground. First, the sketch:
Next is my take on the sketch:
I used the new Circa 1934 paper by Cosmo Cricket. It's got great names too, I used Ginger (background), Gable (yellow part of tag), Bette (red part of tag) Astaire (some of the boarders under the pictures) and Garbo (lettering & B side is the matting of the pictures). Aren't those names great!!
These are pictures of my grandmother when she was young, before she was married. I found the great quote and printed it from the computer. I then cut it using George, into a tag and matted it.
I love my tattered flowers die and I probably use it way too much but it just makes a layout look fab! So here are more tattered flowers on this layout using some leftovers of what I used. I added some bling brads to the centers of the flowers as well.
All my letters were cut by hand (ugh!) but I love the way the title turned out. I also used some lacy ribbon stuff on the tag and as a boarder.

Thanks for stopping and checking out my layout.

Cute little cards

A family friend in Florida has 2 granddaughters, the last time I was there, I took some scrappin' supplies to the the girls, Annabell and Lily, and got them started a bit on scrapbooking and card making. Annabell is 8, and Lily is 7. Saturday I opened my mailbox to find 2 of the cutest little cards from these girls. I just had to share them with all my blogging friends.

Here is Lily's card:
Great use of some sparkly stickers!
And here is Annabell's card:
Love that she used some ribbon on the card!
Great work girls!!

Sweet and Toxic

It's been awhile since I created a card just to create. There is no challenge or design team need for this card, I just wanted to play. I've had the cute little Sweet and Toxic set from The Greeting Farm for awhile now and have never inked up the girl so last night I got inky with her.
I used paper from K and Company's Whimsy Halloween line from last year. I colored her with watercolor pencils and inked the edges with mulled lavender Distress Ink. I also used a notebook paper background stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms. I inked the background stamp in pumice stone Distress Ink and used the 2nd generation stamp on the image and senti.
I used a star dust pen for the skulls and lines in her hair. I also added some little flowers in the top right corner with some bling.
My sentiment is from a company called Little Paper Shop, the set it a digi set called Broken Hearts for Broken Hearts. Great set and the proceeds go to Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton to aid in the research and care of neonatal congenital heart defects.

My Minds Eye Challenge 17, Lessons Learned

I love the sketch this month at My Mind's Eye so I had to participate in the challenge which is: Design a layout or other project based on this sketch (by Anam Stubbington) and include the theme “Lessons Learned”.
Isn't that a great sketch? Below is my layout. 80% of the layout has to be done with My Mind's Eye paper. Everything on my layout except the solid red glitter paper, brads and pins are by My Minds Eye, Lost and Found collection. I love these papers. Especially all the pretty glitter!
I used a quote from Carrie Underwood's song "Lessons Learned" for my journaling because all those things have made me stronger. That's why Stronger is my title.
I cut my title from the Lyrical Letters cartridge, the connected font. My corner flourishes are from the Home Decor cartridge.
I made this cool flower and added a punch out for the top and stuck a few pins in it from Mya Road. Starting to really like these pins. I added Its A Beautiful Life tag and curled the edges to give it some character.
I'm so happy with how this page came out. I always love challenging myself to think outside the box with these My Minds Eye Challenges.

Stamp Insanity Challenge 35, Oh Scrap!!

Oh, SCRAP!

That's the challenge over at Stamp Insanity this week. Oh Scrap! - Create a project with only your leftover bits and strips of paper and bitty pieces of ribbon you just can’t part with! Any scraps will do!! No one will call us crazy hoarders – will they? Are will they? ;)

My card I used the last of my 2008 graduation paper and what I call perfect Twilight paper. Of course the graduation part is the B side of this cool design.

I promise I'll get Twilight off the brain here soon. (Probably December 4th when I can buy Eclipse on DVD).

I have a little of the shimmery black paper left in my scrap bin that I used up as well as the last of my roll of red satin ribbon. I cut my sentiment with my newest Nestability Label set and inked the edges in barn door Distress Ink.
My sentiment came from the Simply Supernatural set from Stamp Insanity. Such a great set!

I used the quilt pattern for an Ohio Star block for my card (kinda like a sketch right?)
And don't forget to go check out the post by the other ward 1 crazies this week...

Fussy and Fancy Challenge 23, Mindy's Sketch

Happy Fussy and Fancy Friday bloggers! What a long week! But it's ending with a great sketch from Mindy for Challenge 23! This is one of my favorite sketches from Mindy.
And my take on the sketch:
I love how this card turned out. I used some brown shimmer paper as my base and then used some My Mind's Eye So Sophie paper, the B side cuz you know I love the B sides lately.
I had a fabric brown flower on hand that I added to the card before I added my butterfly. I added some brown pearls to the butterfly as well as under the sentiment and then I sprayed the whole card again with some Gumdrop Glimmer Mist.
I used the Always Here stamp set from Skipping Stones Design. I stamped this great butterfly on which cardstock and sprayed it with Gumdrop Glimmer Mist which matched my paper perfectly.
Our sponsor this week is Simon Says and they have a great prize so hurry over to Fussy and Fancy to play along with this fabulous sketch.
Thanks for dropping by, don't forget to stop by the other Fancy girls to see what they have done.
