Skipping Stones Tuesday Sketch

I hope your playing along with the sketches over at Skipping Stones Design. Kim Teasdale has done an amazing job this month coming up with some great sketches. This week is no different. The sketch is this...

And here is my card...

This is one of my new favorite sets of stamps, then again I think I say that with any of the stamps that Heather designs at Skipping Stones Design. I used the You Know Your Getting Old When set. The paper is all from my scrap bin but the paisley stuff is from Hobby Lobby. It was one of those I must have papers. Of course I had to put a little bling on here as well. I inked the edges of the image with Vintage Photo by Tim Holtz.

This card went to a friend of mine on her 50th birthday. She has an amazing sense of humor and I knew she had to have it.

Stop back next week for deets on the Blog Hop and I may just have a little Blog Candy to give away.

Stamp Kissing

Heather has been busy posting a few instructional videos over on her site at Skipping Stones. One that I love is Stamp Kissing. I recently got this newly released set to give this technique a try. I haven't had a chance to sit down and play yet but I can't wait to. Here is Heather's video for all of you wondering what Stamp Kissing is.

New Moon Experience

The challenge over at Twilight Tuesday this week was to scrap your New Moon Experience. Since I made my cousins take pictures with me that night for the soul purpose of scrappin' them, I thought this was as good of a time as any. Since the movie poster for the movie was all in sepia tones and kind of woodsy (see picture below) I went with that theme.

There were a lot of 1st on this page for me but I had this image in my head that I had been toying with and it ment using a bunch of different methods to accomplish it. I started with some Bo-Bunny dot paper, I used the suede side and sponge inked some of the edges and corners in Vintage Photo distress ink from Tim Holtz. Then I used the swirl from Fictionally Speaking set from Artful Inkables to stamp the paper (EEK!!! That was a 1st). Then I wanted the moon on the paper but sort of subbtle so I didn't want to use paper. There again I inked around where the moon was going to be and then used some Glimmer Mist in Daffodil in the inside of the moon (EEK!!! Another 1st). I love how that turned out!
My trees were all cut from Doodlecharms in various different sizes and papers, some bo-bunny dot paper and some shimmer cuttlebug paper. Then I pop dotted a few.

This is by far one of my most favorite layouts. Here are some close ups that are a little blurry but you get the idea of the techniques I used.

I also distressed the matting on all the pictures and inked the distressing. (EEK!!! Another 1st!)

Skipping Stones Design sketch challange

Skipping Stones Design has a sketch challenge so make sure you rush over there and get going on the sketch. Here is the sketch:

And my card: Made with the Skipping Stones Design Hula Girl birthday stamp set. I used some Lime Rickey paper from the Basic Grey stack, distress inked the edges, threw some bling on there and crystal effect's on the palm leaves. I used the gold paper as sort of a sun image.

While creating this card I thought how much this palm tree on blue paper reminded me of the visual I got while reading Breaking Dawn of Isle Esme so, I created it blue too. Used the Lime Rickey paper again, also used the Fictionally Inspired stamp set from Artful Inkables. Same effects as the green card, bling, crystal effects, shimmer gold moon, inked the edges, etc.

Cards galore

Because Debbie made my shirt in the previous post, we traded, my shirt for some cards. I thought it was a pretty good trade. While I had a few days off this holiday weekend I threw a few cards together. (I also made doubles of these to give to Skipping Stones Designs as part of their design team).

1st card is done with my set from Skipping Stones Design called Funny Bras Set #1 (yes, there are 3 sets of bras, all great!). The blueish paper is I think by Bo-Bunny. It was a halloween paper. The black circle stuff was in my stash of scraps. I used some black ribbon, bling and stickles and sponged the edges of the image with some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink.

Card #2: All my paper is from Altered Art on this card, not sure what the line is though. It was recently purchased however so I'm sure if you head down there she'll still have some. The images is matted on Bo Bunny's dots cardstock that I love so much. I cuttlebuged the yellow batting and sanded it with a nail file. I stickled the flames and glossy accented the frosting on the donut. Yum! The stamp set is from Skipping Stones Designs and is called Donut Birthday (I think). This one isn't on her website yet.

Card #3: This card is made with some coffee paper from Flair Designs, a little bit of pearl bling and the mug is sponged with Distress Inks. The inside says "Hope your birthday is good to the last drop". This set is also from Skipping Stones Designs but also not on her site yet.

Card #4: Also made with the coffee set from Skipping Stones Designs, the paper is from Hobby Lobby. I feel in love with it! The ribbon is from a ribbon swap I was in and the flower is by Petaloo and the matting paper was from my scrap stash. Sponged in Distress Inks. I love that technique.

Card #5: This is made with Margarita Birthday stamp set from Skipping Stones Design. Yes, I know, this is wine, but it's also on this set. The ring however, is from the coffee set. Those are done in Versa Mark ink, the glass is covered in glossy accents and matted on the dot card stock from Bo Bunny.

New Moon shirt

Kathy at Altered Art told me about Tessa having some cool shirts made for her kids. She went and visited the cool people on the Dis Boards who will design a logo for a shirt for you to print as an iron on and put on a shirt. After seeing the ones she did with the Twilight theme, I had to have a Team Edward for the opening night of New Moon. My friend Debbie who owns Ponderosa Sportswear screen printed the image on my shirt for me. How cool is this?

Fangs or Fur?

Because my obsession has been with Edward, I thought it was time to give Jacob a little love as well. This is a bookmark card, the bookmark is perforated for the recipient to remove and use. I found this paper at Hobby Lobby and thought it was perfect! The stamps are from the set I got at barnes & noble. They have gotten lots of use. The stamp on the inside of the card that says Imprinted is from my new set fro Artful Inkables called Fictionally Inspired. Love them!

(Not sure why this came out an odd shade of brown, it's the same as what's above.)
