Newlywed Survival Kit

This was the gift I gave my cousin Jill and her Husband Max for their wedding. I used a gallon pail from stampendous, the words Mr. & Mrs. are from Paper Studio, the lace card stock is from ki Memories (I love this stuff!), the flowers are K&Co, and the gray paper is also from Paper Studio, the ribbon is from my stash. I'm so excited on how well this came out. The only problem I had was getting the lace card stock to stick. I finally used spray adhesive on it and it worked for the most part.

The contents were:

Lemonade: To remind you that when life gives you lemons, to make lemonade;
A Paper Clip: To help you hold it all together when it seems like it’s falling apart;
A Stick of Gum: To remind you to stick together;
Pennies: To give you the extra cents (sense) everyone needs to know which battles are worth fighting and which are better ignored;
Candy Kisses: To share with each other and to say I LoveYou in a sweet way;
Tootsie Rolls: To help you remember to roll with the punches;
An Eraser: To remind you to be forgiving as everyone makes mistakes;
Toothpicks: To remind you to always pick out the good in your mate;
Lollipops: To help you lick your problems, no matter how many there may be;
A Gift Certificate: To use for something you didn’t get that you really can use.

File Folder album

I finished this cute little File Folder album this weekend, minus the pictures. I used some cool Heidi Swapp paper that I won at the Storm Mountain retreat from the great ladies at the Altered Art Playground (the best scrap store ever!). I also used a few cut outs from the Home Accents Cricut cartridge and some velum quotes I had laying around. I used some Bling brads and some brown ribbon I had laying around as well. This book was so easy and when I find the link that I used to create this book, I'll post it (if I ever find it again).

**Update: This isn't the same link I used but the directions are pretty much the same. Have fun!

An Apple a Day

I get ideas for cards at the weirdest moments. Last night, laying bed, almost asleep I came up with this one. So of course I pulled myself out of bed and started creating. Apples are cut from Doodlecharms on Bazzill Bling cardstock. I added a little bling to the apples. The inside of the card says "keeps the doctor away". Thought this would be a cute little get well card. Thanks for looking! I wish it would have scanned better.

My meeting with Obama

I'm sure most of my friends know but now the rest of the blogging world will know as well. In May, I got the honor of meeting Presidential hopeful Barack Obama. Since May I've been contemplating on how in the world I was going to scrap this monumental event. Today while at my LSS (Local Scrapbook Store) I found that KI Memories had come out with some cool red star lace cardstock. I knew I had to use that. Then at Hobby Lobby I came across the Patriotic Blue Stars by Paper Studio. They went perfect together and thus, the idea in my head was born. Here's the finished product! Had to add a little bling in there too. Thanks for looking!

P.S. Sorry the pictures didn't turn out the greatest!
